Answers for people who need to know what QKV will demand.

This FAQ covers questions, maps, tests, robotics, AI research, schools, and what QKV refuses to certify.

Answers this practice actually gives

This page is for a family or school with a practical question. The list below is about a question, a map with empty nodes, and a trial that can miss and falsifiable question sheet, knowledge map, pass/fail line, trial log. Turn a claim into a test another person can rerun.

How to use the list

Read the answers as practice rules, not as a contract for a seat.

Questions this institute actually answers

What does Question. Knowledge. Verification. mean in practice?

It is a working order. Students design a question that can fail, map what is known and unknown, then run a written test and keep a log. qkv.org organizes STEM innovation training around that chain so a demo cannot outrun the evidence.

Is QKV only for robotics?

No. Robotics is one evidence domain. QKV also trains question design, knowledge maps, verification methods, AI experiment checks, and research protocols. A robot without a question is decoration, not a QKV project.

Do students need prior lab experience?

No. Foundation work is question quality and honest notes. Students who already build robots or train models are still asked for a falsifiable question and a failed trial in the pack.

What is a verification test here?

A test written before the trial, with a pass line, a fail line, an instrument, and a stop rule. A single successful video is not verification. Project verification requires a place where the claim could have died.

Why keep failed trials?

Because a reviewer cannot audit a story told only from memory. Failed or inconclusive trials are part of robotics AI student research when they were produced by a pre-written test. Deleting them is an integrity problem.

Can families audit a project without being engineers?

Yes. Ask to see the question sheet, the knowledge map with empty nodes, the protocol, the raw log, and the limits statement. If those are missing, the polished device is not yet QKV work.

How do schools mark QKV work?

Teachers mark the evidence pack, not the paint on a chassis. School modules define a markable object: question, map, test, log, limits. Innovation blocks graded only on polish are not a QKV studio.

What do mentors refuse to do?

They refuse to run the experiment for the student, fix the data, or hide negative results. They challenge the claim by asking what result would force a rewrite. Taking the keyboard is not mentoring.

Can QKV work be done online?

Yes, if logs are timestamped, raw files are kept, and protocol reviews are scheduled. Remote summaries written after the fact are not logs. Distance is not a reason to reconstruct results from memory.

Does QKV publish student discoveries?

This public site does not sell publication, patents, or prizes. Students may present evidence packs. QKV Institute does not certify that a student has made a scientific discovery.

How should a student start if they already have a robot?

Write the question the robot is supposed to answer. Map what is known. Write a calibration or path test with a fail line. If the robot cannot lose, it is not yet in a QKV format.

What about AI projects that only use chat tools?

They can be QKV work if the student designs checks against known cases, including cases meant to fool the model, and logs misses. A prompt transcript without a check is not verification.

What safeguarding applies to logs and photos?

Trial logs can contain names, locations, or other people's data. QKV treats raw logs as student records. Public posting of data files is not a default. Unsafe tests are stopped even if they would look impressive.

Is a knowledge map a poster?

No. A map with no empty node is a poster. QKV maps show sources, dependencies, and unknowns. They are working documents dated as the investigation changes.

How do partners work with QKV?

Partners agree to require an evidence pack and to allow failed trials in public. A challenge that forbids negative results is not a verification challenge, however innovative it sounds.

What if the student wants to present first and test later?

Then the work is not ready. QKV will slow a beautiful demo until the question, map, and test can be shown. Polish after the pack exists, never instead of the pack.

Does QKV require statistics?

Students should match the honesty of the claim to the size of the evidence. A small test can still have a pass line. Overclaiming from one run is the problem, not the absence of a university statistics course.

How is QKV different from a general STEM club?

Many clubs reward building. QKV rewards a checkable chain. If a club cannot show a question, a map, and a log, it may be valuable making — it is not yet QKV Institute work.
